RUTH WARRICK

RUTH WARRICK

Ruth Warrick (2219-2321) is an award winning Earth writer, born in the United State of Virginia. Among her best-known works are the novels Skeletal Music and The Lights of Zetar, and the Inter/Active, Juneu Attec's Final Wave .

EARLY YEARS

At a young age, Ruth Warrick knew she wanted to be a writer. Her widowed father David Allen Warrick (2170-2255) managed the popular writings of Ruth's late mother Linda Arvitsen (2179-2230), which provided an ongoing, comfortable income for the pair. At age 14, Ruth's father, acting as her agent, was able to sell her first story, Harbinger , an observation of the days leading up to her mother's death. By age 21, she had published her first novel, The Secret Bride, to critical acclaim.

LITERARY SUCCESS

In 2244 Ruth achieved success far beyond that of her mother with the publication of her novel Skeletal Music . The book - about an anorexic teenager - won the Pulitzer Prize in literature, and made Warrick a worldwide literary star. Other popular novels and stories followed, including the Inter/Active tale Juneu Attec's Final Wave , about an aging actor's last performance. The Lights of Zetar , a fictionalized account of her experiences as a professor at Star Fleet Academy, was released in 2258, winning the Pulitzer and Zee-Magnie prizes. The novel features a character purportedly based on the young Admiral James T. Kirk, who was a cadet in Ruth's literature class during her tenure at the Academy.

LATER YEARS

After The Lights of Zetar, Ruth Warrick never published another novel. She never married and had no children. Her final years were spent in semi-seclusion on her estate in Virginia. She died of Gertia Treca disease just after her 101st birthday.
