ZEE-MAGNIE PRIZE (Literary Award)

The Zee-Magnie literary prize is named for the prolific Valtusian author, poet and thinker Zee-Magnie (2013-2187 / 2190-2264 / 2270-). The honor is bestowed on the yearly orbit cycle of Valtusia, roughly every 2 years and 3 months on Earth.

HISTORY

The inaugural award was given in 2189, between Zee-Magnie's first and second physical incarnations, when it was thought that he would be unable to reconstitute himself through the Valtusian process known as Vgoh Unisim (Entity Transfer). After his surprising reemergence in 2190 he took over the task of choosing the winner of the award given in his name.

HONOREES

The Zee-Magnie prize is truly a galaxy-wide award, with writers and thinkers honored inside and outside Federation territory. In 2255 the Romulan poet Anxex won the award; in 2199 the epic one billion character Tholian palindrome TixixiT took the top prize. (Its multi-lingual translation key, completed in 2325, also won the award.) The first Earthman to win Zee-Magnie honors was the free-air thinker Braddenberry in 2224.
