An important strategic ally to the United Federation of Planets, Architerius 447's sole celestial companion became a Sovereign entity on March 17, 2265, following almost 150 years of negotiation and strife.
HISTORY
Inhabitants of planet Architerius 447 first colonized their moon in 2111, just 24 years after their first primitive steps into space. Almost immediately it's inhabitants petitioned for legal status, but it wasn't until the activist Yon Vaar took his case directly to the Federation that progress was made. A deal was brokered to allow the moon to become its own sovereign state, enjoying the freedom of independence from the council on Architerius.
RESOURCES
The moon of Architerius was discovered to be a rich storehouse of precious metals and other rare planetary materials, including tri-lithium (previously only known through laboratory synthesis), cobalt-g3, Feldman's rock and Thulian gold. Furthermore, its unique gravimetric and magnetic characteristics allow the "seeding" of raw materials to be quickly alchemized into rare compounds by normal planetary processes.
