ROBERT ALAN WESLEY

ROBERT ALAN WESLEY (2223-2366)

Robert Wesley was an officer in Star Fleet, eventually reaching the rank of Fleet Admiral during his 42-year career.

EARLY YEARS

Robert Wesley was born on Sherman's planet, to Ambassador John Hardin Wesley and his wife M'roz. John Hardin taught his son the art of diplomacy and politics from an early age, and had hoped that Robert would follow him into the diplomatic service. But young Robert's course was set when he met captain Darius Garth, the famous star ship commander and tactician. Garth's charming demeanor and depth of confidence made a deep impression on the 14-year-old boy, and within a few years he was a cadet at Star Fleet Academy. At the request of his father, Robert was taken under the wing of his friend Emmanuel Stallman (2203-2288), the well-known Admiral and professor. In Officer's Candidate School, Wesley distinguished himself well beyond his contemporaries, and a bright future was predicted.

STAR FLEET

Wesley's first post was to the U.S.S. Concordia , an unarmed diplomatic vessel traveling through the Oyster Nebula in Alpha Quadrant. A year into this routine mission in a quiet section of the galaxy, hostile forces attacked the Concordia , killing the captain and four other rank officers. With Wesley now thrust into a key leadership position, and he devised a stalling tactic to misdirect the opposing aliens, then dispatched a mock surrender delegation which was instead a pilotless shuttle craft rigged to explode in proximity to their vessel. The incident established him as a quick thinking, inventive officer, and won him the first of his many commendations, the Triart Field Award.

CAPTAINCY

Wesley was elevated to captain in 2263, taking command of the U.S.S. Constitution . His five year term as the Consitution's captain resulted in a promotion to Rear Admiral (lower half), and a quick rise through the Admiralty. He reached Admiral (4 stars) on March 1, 2278.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Wesley was Fleet Admiral in charge of all Federation forces during the Mayark War (2291-93), personally directing the campaign-ending victory over enemy forces at the second battle of Zee Run, and was also instrumental in bringing the rebel leader Xentau Raumn to the bargaining table in 2311. As the commander of the U.S.S. Constitution, he participated in the dissolution of Tyson's Wake , a sentient energy being that destroyed two local irregular galaxies known as the Megellanic Clouds before turning to menace the Milky Way.

RETIREMENT

Robert Wesley left Star Fleet as only the 4th Fleet Admiral ever commissioned by the service. He wrote two books, The Deadly Years: A Memoir , and Stallman's March , a biography of his mentor, Star Fleet Admiral Emmanuel Stallman. In retirement he lived in the United State of Baja with his wife Susan.
